Every time I walk through Soho, there’s always a long queue on Old Compton St, patiently waiting outside Eat Tokyo. I’ve wanted to try it for *ages*, but never quite got round to it. So when my friend and I were making evening plans recently, we decided to go and check it out.
Luckily you can book, so we managed to skip the long queue outside, on a Friday night – bonus!
The inside is nothing to write home about – there are no frills – it’s plain and simple, but it’s the food that does the talking.
We were seated quickly, and then had to make some pretty hard choices! In the end, we went for miso soup to start, which was surprisingly good (believe it or not, I’ve never had miso soup before!).
This was followed by a *lot* more food. We had dragon rolls, spider rolls, and a INSANELY MASSIVE bento box!
The bento box was so big that we had to take some home!
Everything was really delicious, and we had a very sweet girl serving us. She convinced us to try the hot sake, which was delicious, I can imagine it’s even better in the winter. The only downside is it goes cool quite quickly.
Overall, this place was amazing. SO reasonably priced, fast service, delicious food, and great company! AJ and I have already booked to go again 🙂
